NIKE

2004-05 JUVENTUS #7 PESSOTTO MATCH WORN SHIRT VS MACCABI CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NIKE

Details: It differs from the shirts on sale in shops due to the words "Made in Portugal" on the collar, the Nike logo and stars on the chest applied in plastic and not embroidered. Official Champions League patch. Long sleeves. Number applied. Juventus shirt issued/worn by Gianluca Pessotto during the Champions League match Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Juventus on 8 December 2004 Provenance: private collection. With the shirt you will receive our certified and numbered declaration, which guarantees the authenticity of the shirt. Teammates: Ibrahimovic, Cannavaro, Emerson, Del Piero, Thuram Note: For the Champions League match against Maccabi Haifa in Tel Aviv, Juventus sponsor Tamoil, owned by the Libyan government, was not used on the Bianconeri's shirts for a specific reason. The government of Libya, which is an Arab country, did not want the Tamoil logo to be sponsored in Israel due to the historical dispute between Israel and Arab countries. So Juventus played without a sponsor on their chest. The Bianconeri therefore used a regular Serie A shirt without a sponsor on the front and with a black square on the back as per UEFA rules. Thus was born a uniform different from the normal Champions League shirts used in the rest of the season.
